It’s that time of year again! Every August, parents, and children prepare for a new academic year with excitement. Back-to-school time is usually filled with new shoes, new school supplies, and lunchboxes.
This year is a little different. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all. The re-opening opening of schools has become a constantly evolving plan. Our local school board, here in Cobb County, has decided to begin the new year online only.
Innovator’s Trilingual Academy will be opening our classrooms, as planned, in August. We hold our staff’s and our student’s well-being as a top priority. To ensure a safe environment for all people, we have published our COVID-19 response information on our website. We believe this plan will allow for each child’s educational growth while taking appropriate and logical measures to prevent viral and bacterial spread.
As always, the class sizes at Innovators will remain small with ten students or less per classroom! We believe children can learn and grow better in smaller environments. Fortunately, the small class sizes are also the best way to reduce potential exposure to health risks as well!
As always, if any child or staff member is showing signs of illness, we ask you/your child to stay home.
Our COVID-19 Back-to-School Response Plan States…
Together we can limit the possibility of transmission with the following steps:
- Everyone must be tested! Prior to returning to school grounds, everyone must be tested twice for COVID-19. This includes all staff and their immediate families, all students, and their immediate families. Staff will also be tested for COVID-19 antibodies.
- Small class size! Not only do small classrooms allow your child to connect with his/her teacher, most importantly, it lowers the risk of a child getting sick. We will continue to have small class sizes. The ratio at our Early Learning campus classrooms is 8 to 1 and 10 to 1 at the Elementary campus. We encourage groups of 8 to become a community with one room parent to represent the community.
- Everyone must wear a mask! The best way to not expose others is to simply wear a mask. (The only exceptions anyone who has breathing issues or cannot take their mask off without assistance)
- Self-quarantine. For families of students, they must help keep their student(s) safe by practicing self-quarantine, by limiting their exposure to outside contact as much as possible. Remember to keep your family and our family safe by avoiding contact by remaining home as much as possible.
Our homeschool hybrid program is growing to meet the increased demand for an at-home education alternative or supplement. As we begin to grow this powerful program, we will update our community via website and/or Facebook.
For new families, we have added an online application option! To apply, simply download and complete the application, and upload it through our website.
