COVID-19 Health and Safety
Innovators Trilingual Academy is committed to safety and a quality education. We believe we can do both and keep our campuses open with your help.
Together we can limit the possibility of transmission with the following steps:
- Everyone must be tested! Prior to returning to school grounds, everyone must be tested twice for COVID-19. This includes all staff and their immediate families, all students, and their immediate families. Staff will also be tested for COVID-19 antibodies.
- Small class size! Not only do small classrooms allow your child to connect with his/her teacher, most importantly, it lowers the risk of a child getting sick. We will continue to have small class sizes. The ratio at our Early Learning campus classrooms is 8 to 1 and 10 to 1 at the Elementary campus. We encourage groups of 8 to become a community with one room parent to represent the community.
- Everyone must wear a mask! The best way to not expose others is to simply wear a mask. (The only exceptions anyone who has breathing issues or cannot take their mask off without assistance)
- Self-quarantine. For families of students, they must help keep their student(s) safe by practicing self-quarantine, by limiting their exposure to outside contact as much as possible. Remember to keep your family and our family safe by avoiding contact by remaining home as much as possible.
We believe in taking responsibility for our own health and safety. By limiting the amount of people we encounter daily, getting tested, wearing a mask, and self-quarantining in addition to the listed guidelines required by the State, we will do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Our COVID 19 Daily Plans
We are sure that all of you, like all of us, have been checking for updates daily on the latest news regarding COVID-19. We are all concerned for the health and safety of our families, our loved ones, and especially our kids. It is our priority to keep you and your children safe when they are in our care and on our campus. We have received important information and guidelines from the Cobb County Department of Health, Cobb County School District, and Georgia’s Department of Early Childcare to help us to do just that.
First and foremost, our goal is to keep our students, their parents, and our staff as safe as possible as we move toward fully reopening up our school in August. Also, please keep in mind that we are subject to state and county regulations that require us to report any infections to the proper agency and that we may be subject to closure based on the severity of the infection.
As some of you may know, we have already begun to accept students into our Early Learning School on a very limited basis without incident. We will continue to enroll students there and will officially open on August 3rd. Open enrollment is currently underway for our elementary campus which will begin classes on August 17th. Again, these dates may be subject to change based on state and county orders.
Effective immediately, we will initiate the following steps to help reduce possible transmission of the virus and protect our students:
- Everyone entering the school grounds will be given a mandatory temperature check and will be checked for symptoms. Anyone showing symptoms of illness will be sent home and must have a doctors approval to return to school.
- All students, staff, and parents must wear masks at all times while on school grounds.
- We will continue with a limited class size of 8 to 1ratio to reduce physical contact and emphasize social distancing.
- There will be hand washing stations on campus and staff will wipe down and disinfect high use surfaces throughout each day.
- All Food, snacks, and drinks will be supplied by staff.
- We will practice social distancing on campus whenever possible.
- If your child has pre-existing conditions you should notify us of the conditions and seek the advice of your doctor before you consider the added risk required for your child’s enrollment.
- Drop-offs & Pickups will remain the same. Parents are not allowed in the building.
- School hours will remain the same 6:30 am – 6:00 pm
- Parents should be aware of that if any students or staff contract COVID-19, we have to immediately send that child of staff person home. There is a chance that we may have to shut down the classrooms where the virus was identified as outlined by the following county guidelines:”Should we be notified of any confirmed cases of COVID-19 within a specific classroom environment, that particular classroom may be immediately shut down for 14 days. Any siblings of students within the affected classroom would be asked to remain at home as well. That classroom may shift to a distant learning platform along with any siblings from other classrooms that were required to remain at home for their 14 day quarantine period.”The classroom will be sanitized following CDC recommendations while students and staff are away in isolation for 14 days.
Students and/or teachers who have exhibited symptoms and who have stayed home can return to school/work when the following criteria are met:
- At least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since recovery (resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications
– The child or staff member has improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g. cough, shortness of breath
– At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared, or Negative results of an FDA Emergency Use Authorized COVID-19 molecular assay for detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA from at least two consecutive respiratory specimens collected 24 hours apart (total of two negative specimens)
Should this unfortunate circumstance occur, our first option would to have the quarantined child log into our online courses.
Even in these difficult times, the goal of Innovators Tri-lingual Academy is always to provide a safe, challenging, and fun educational experience for your child’s growth.
