Enrichment Program
WE KEEP THE IMAGINATION ALIVE!
Field trips can be an enriching experience and contribute to the development of your child into an independent, renaissance young man or woman with strong critical thinking. Fridays are “Fun Field Trip Friday”. Some field trips are on site and some are off site. We visit a variety of cultural institutions including art, natural history, and science museums. We also visit theaters, the Zoo, grocery stores, parks, libraries, and historical sites. It’s all about exposing young minds to new experiences and stimulating images which in turn stimulates imagination.
Gardening
Children with high sugar diets are more likely to engage in conflicts, have behavioral issues at school, and perform relatively poorly on standardized tests. Therefore, we promote healthy eating at ITA. We have joined the sugar-free initiative and abstain from foods and beverages that are overly sweetened. As a means to further their understanding and involved participation, we have an on-campus garden in which the children will tend and learn by example the important experience of growing and consuming natural foods.
Physical Education:
In addition to our normal P.E. activities, we will offer an elective Karate class. Today’s kids are so accustomed to receiving instant gratification that lessons in self-restraint and discipline are not always easy to come by. Kids with a martial arts background, however, are continually reminded of how essential self-discipline is. When your child strives toward each new belt, he is learning valuable lessons about setting and reaching his goals.
